Information Literacy and ICT Literacy Training Programme at Barokhata High School, Hatibandha, Lalmonirhat - 22-23 September 2012

Centre for Information Studies, Bangladesh (CIS,B) and Practi jointly organized  Information Literacy and ICT Literacy Training Programme during 22-23 September 2012 at Barokhata High School, Hatibandha, Lalmonirhat. The programme was arranged for 30 students of class IX. Dr. Mezbah-ul-Islam, Director (Research) of CIS,B and Associate Professor of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka spoke on the opening ceremony and gave an overview of the training programme. Dr. Md. Shiful Islam, Assistant Professor,  Dept. of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka also spoke on the ceremony. 

Honourable State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md. Motahar Hossain was the Chief Guest of the Inaugural Ceremony while UNO and UASEO were Special Guest and the Headmistress of the school was the Chairperson of the programme.

The resource persons of the training sessions were Director of CIS,B Minhaj Uddin Ahmed, Prof. Dr. Mezbah-ul-Islam of Dhaka University, Dr. Md. Shiful Islam and A.K.M. Nurul Alam (Apu), Library and IT Assistant of United Nations Information Centre (UNIC), Dhaka. The participants were awarded with certificates and gifts.

An international NGO - Practical Action, Bangladesh took the initiative to conduct the programme through their Gyaner Hat. 

After the training sessions of first day, we went to Tin Bigha Corridor. With the help of BGB, we explored the area and took a number of photographs. We also talked to BSF personnel there.
